Do I have to sign a contract to use Basil?
We don’t require a length of service contract – Basil’s service is month-to-month. If you don’t find Basil useful for your store operations, you can cancel your service at any time without penalty. We do require you to sign a Basil software license agreement and provide automatic billing information.
Do you offer a trial period?
Because Basil is provided over the Internet and is a server-based service, we do not offer a trial period. However, when you sign up with Basil, you pay for our service on a month-to-month basis and can cancel at any time without penalty. We do offer a free online demo of our product and will answer any questions prior to purchasing Basil for your store.
Is product support included or do I have to pay extra?
The initial, one-time $250 set-up fee includes up to 10 hours of product training and support. Your monthly service fee covers all product updates and customer support.
Since Basil is internet-based, what happens to my inventory if my internet service goes down?
Basil uses redundant/back-up service for all database information. Your data is securely stored in our remote IT environment making recovery from local hardware issues a snap.
What do I need to purchase to run Basil in my store?
A standard laptop or computer tower generally suffices for your system needs. Depending on your store set up, there are printer, scanner, and cash drawer peripherals (see our recommended hardware list). Feel free to contact our support team with any questions about hardware and system set up
