Addico Solutions is a family-owned company and the name behind Basil Bookseller Software. Launched in 2003 by brothers Eric and Mike McKnight, Basil was created to address all of the needs of new, used, and online booksellers with just one product.
We have over 500 bookstores across the U.S. ranging in size from less than 1,000 sq ft to 50,000 sq ft. Some exclusively sell new books and others sell a mix of new and used.
We continue to enhance Basil Bookseller Software as our customers’ needs and technology changes, and we strive to provide our customers with unparalleled access to their inventory and peace of mind.
Eric McKnight
Eric founded Addico Solutions in 2002 and he continues to help run the company on a daily basis as well as lead the software’s development. Eric enjoys creating software solutions that are friendly and solve customer problems.
Outside of books, Eric spends time being involved in his local church and enjoying his family. He lives in Monroe, GA, with his wife Mandy, five children and his two cats Tic-Tac and Rae and his favorite beagle, Jackson.
Michael McKnight, Jr.
Mike Jr. co-founded Addico Solutions with his brother Eric. As Vice President of Operations, Mike's day-to-day includes keeping the servers up to speed, running product demos, training, and managing customers' software migration. Beyond the nitty-gritty, Mike takes a vested interest in the need for bookstores to adapt and change their business model based upon the increasingly competitive bookseller market. From learning to sell non-book items and running book fairs at the local school to becoming social media experts and running an e-commerce site, booksellers' needs are diverse. Thankfully for Mike, he enjoys solving customers' problems.
When he's not solving problems, Mike enjoys spending time traveling with his wife, or kicking back at their home in Suwanee with their three kids and two dogs.
Michael McKnight, Sr.
Mike Sr. works hard to ensure that Basil customers are provided with first rate service within the guaranteed 24-hour time frame. He also coordinates billing, marketing, trade shows and new customer equipment set up and training.
Mike Sr. lives in Kalispell, MT, with his wife Brenda, and two dogs, Spirit and Rusty. When he’s not working for the love of books, he likes to fish, hunt, or spend time with family and grandkids just hangin’ out.
